IRU’s 2024 River Stewardship Programs
We are excited to announce that our 2024 River Stewardship program applications are open!
IRU Volunteer Program Update
IRU’s volunteer programs are in full swing this summer. This year, we launched a monthly clean-up effort along the Boise River and started two new stewardship programs – the Sawtooth Salmon Stewardship Program and the Boise Urban River Stewardship Program.
Protecting Salmon in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area
This summer, Idaho Rivers United and the Sawtooth National Forest are introducing a new program aimed at protecting endangered spawning salmon from human impacts during the summer months.
Grateful for volunteers and our future generation of river advocates
Idaho Rivers United teamed up with BSU Environmental Studies students to create river education projects that engaged over 330 students in the Treasure Valley.
IRU had the privilege of working with eight BSU college students to extend specific communications, policy and education projects. The education program paired up with Boys and Girls Club in both the Meridian and Garden City locations.
