Welcome - Tess McEnroe, IRU’s Communications Coordinator

We would like to introduce you to Tess McEnroe, IRU's Communications Coordinator. Tess first joined IRU last year as the first IRU River Fellow, who created an online Guide Education certification program about the Middle Fork.

Tess prides herself on being a steward for rivers and the species who call them home. Her undergraduate degree in Photojournalism and master's in Environmental Education, combined with over a decade of river guiding in Idaho, give her experience in connecting people to the environment through powerful, inclusive storytelling.

Tess believes that rivers connect landscapes and humanity – they are the lifeblood of Mother Earth, the pulsing, freshwater veins of the planet. Her favorite place to be is on the river and is constantly humbled by its constant force and calming presence. You can find her paddling, fishing, skiing, and enjoying the mountains on the Salish Kootenai and Nez Perce lands (in Missoula, Montana, and Central Idaho).
