Aveda 2024 Earth Month Campaign-Providing & Protecting Clean Water Since 1999

As the nights grow shorter and the days lengthen, anticipation fills the air at IRU because it signals the approach of Earth Month! This year we are particularly excited as we celebrate 10 years of collaboration with Aveda during Earth Month. Since starting their Earth Month campaign, Aveda has raised over $71 million globally to protect thousands of watersheds and provide clean water for millions of people.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Idaho Aveda Salons and Institutes for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding our rivers and advocating for clean water resources for all. Last year, Rain Salon & Spa, Graeber and Company, and Aveda Institute Twin Falls, all supported IRU through their 2023 Earth Month Campaigns and raised over $12,000 for our clean water initiatives. Our partnership with local Aveda Salons and Institutes has helped spread awareness of IRU’s conservation work and how precious a resource of clean water is for everyone. 

So far there have been some fantastic events centered around conserving our clean water resources. To kick off the weekend before Earth Day, the Aveda Institutes in Boise and Twin Falls hosted their Annual Trashion show, a creative showcase of sustainability where students and instructors from Aveda Institutes in Idaho ingeniously craft outfits from materials that are typically discarded. It's a unique fusion of art, fashion, and environmental consciousness. Rain Salon and Spa in Meridian, Idaho, hosted a raffle and their Cut-A-Thon to close the weekend. By promoting the message that clean water is a human right, Rain Salon and Spa offered dry haircuts to cut water usage with the goal of raising $8,000 for their campaign.

If you missed out on the Earth Month festivities with Aveda, you still have time to show your support. On April 27, 2024, Nathan Layne Institute of Cosmetology will host its 2nd Annual Trashion Show in Pocatello, Idaho. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door for $10. They will have raffle baskets available with the Grand Prize being a year's worth of Free Services (valued @ $1,200) at Nathan Layne Institute of Cosmetology.
