Inclusive Outdoors: Learn To Fish Day on May 28th, 2021

The outdoors is meant for everyone, although not everyone has access or opportunity to experience outdoor recreation. IRU is working to help create opportunities for under-represented groups to participate in outdoor activities through a new partnership with Inclusive Idaho.

Inclusive Idaho's mission is to "elevate inclusion, belonging and equity in Idaho, with an intentional focus on advocacy, support, and coalition for and with the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and all underrepresented, underserved, and minoritized communities." One key focus of the organization is to create outdoor opportunities that are "welcoming and accessible for everyone." IRU plans to help accomplish this goal through a collaborative partnership, bringing together IRU's community of outdoor lovers to help create inclusive outdoor experiences.

Our first event is a youth fishing day on May 28th, 9:30 am-11:30 am for children who are refugees. If you love to fish, we need your help! We need a few volunteers to come out and help teach a few kids how to fish.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Anna at 208-343-7481 or anna@idahorivers.org.
